“fish tacos”

i’ve smelt like onions since yesterday–
my back to you, hands slicked with avocado. you spoke,
wishing we could transpose the mango’s blush,
the verdant green and cabbage purple on the world
outside– on the white and brown, snow and earth world.

your brow was furrowed with fish-smoke, singing.
