Things I am thankful for. . .

November 21, 2008

I know, cheesy. But it’s the way I’m feeling. It’s 9 o’clock. I just got home from work and put my feet up (literally, sans shoes, on the coffee table). In case you haven’t pieced it together yet, I’m now a portrait photographer, whose bread-and-butter (especially at the moment) is children. Children in red and green, bows and sweater vests, slicked hair, curled hair, pressed, primped, beautiful children. So, inspired by their (exhausting) joy, here is the beginning of a list I’ll keep to Thanksgiving, or until next Thanksgiving, or always. . . to be expanded until I forget what’s on it and repeat myself too much. . .

1. children
2. animals
3. second chances
4. growing into my skin
5. gripping memoirs
6. cameras
7. getting lost
8. a new city
9. my precious Mark
10. the mountains
11. mentoring
12. close family
13. a new job
14. the ocean
15. delicious tomatoes, raw with s&p
16. regaining what was lost
17. learning
18. a new apartment
19. house plants
20. habits
21. my yellow shoes
22. kitty-cat noses, and toes, and whiskers, and purrs
23. hikes
24. plum (the color, not the fruit– though, the fruit’s nice too.)

. . . to be continued . . .
