I’ve always felt like taxidermy was an artform.  Maybe that has something to do with growing up in a culture– and household– where stuffed wildlife were not only appropriate, but absolutely necessary, wall adornments.  They are beautiful momento mori, in my opinion.  And I have now stumbled across an artist who explicitly focuses her training as a taxidermist, cobbler, and jeweler into making stupendously original works, like this one:
